Time based vs static widgets in HappyFox Reports

HappyFox Reports visualizations can be broadly (but not limited to) classified into two types:

  • Static Widgets
  • Timeline Widgets

Static Widgets:

 

The purpose of Static widgets is to represent the distribution of the corresponding report metric. Unless specified, these distributions are real-time. The base-reporting-set for which these visualizations are governed by the user-controlled items in the top-bar such as filters, date range selectors etc.

 

Most Static widgets have 4 visualizations possible (Table, Bar Chart, Pie chart and Donut Chart). However, few static widgets might have limited visualizations, due to their nature. These customizations were made available for the agents to switch to a more readable visualization form depending on the size of the statistics. For example, it is easier to view smaller distributions using a pie or a bar chart.

Timeline Widgets:

 

Timeline widgets add an additional dimension of "time" along with the standard report metrics.

Most Timeline widgets have 3 visualizations available (Timeline table, Heatmap and Line chart). Each visualization offers a new perspective as the same data-set is presented in 3 unique ways. Furthermore, the individual visualizations can be further broken down in terms of "time" such as hours, days, quarters, years etc., hence the term "Timeline Widgets".
